Indivisible Map
A searchable, interactive map for indivisible.org that helped people find local Indivisible chapters and actions — one of the first large-scale civic mapping tools built for the post-2016 organizing surge.
Indivisible launched in late 2016 and grew faster than anyone expected. Within months there were thousands of local groups with no good way for people to find them. I built the interactive map that became the primary tool for group discovery on indivisible.org.
Civic technology works best when it solves the problem immediately in front of someone.
I built the map using React and Mapbox, with a data pipeline pulling from the Indivisible group database. The tool needed to handle both geographic search and filtering by event type, and to work well on mobile — where most people were accessing it.
